Timeform take you through the card at Kempton on Wednesday evening.
17:45 - ALTAIRA (8) looked in need of the run when fifth on his most recent outing at this venue, but should be reaching peak fitness now and is beginning to look potentially very well-treated. Indeed, he is now 6 lb lower than when placed on several occasions in the summer and, with the possibility of more to come in cheekpieces for the first time, Altaira is fancied to show the benefit of that latest outing and can regain the winning thread in this opening leg of the Placepot.
18:15 - ALABASTER (2) showed plenty of ability when fourth on his most recent outing at Chelmsford, keeping on well in the closing stages and giving the impression this longer trip would see him in an even better light. He remains open to more improvement after just two starts and, while there are some interesting newcomers in opposition, Alabaster makes most appeal of those with experience and looks the solid option for Placepot purposes.
18:45 - DAREBIN (1) showed improved form to get off the mark on his most recent outing in this discipline at Lingfield, staying on strongly to lead close home and belatedly reproducing the fairly useful form he had to his name over hurdles in doing so. That form gives him the edge over Langlauf on Timeform ratings here and Darebin is fancied to take advantage of what looks a fair mark now back in a handicap.
19:15 - PLUCKY DIP (4) doesn't have the greatest strike rate, but he is beginning to receive some respite from the handicapper and shaped as if back in form when fourth on his most recent outing at Chelmsford. He has now dropped to a mark just 2 lb higher than when winning at Catterick in May and, with Adam Kirby back in the saddle here, Plucky Dip is fancied to overcome his wide draw and shades the vote from the speedy Oriental Relation with the Placepot in mind.
19:45 - WINTERLUDE (3) resumed winning ways with a pillar-to-post victory at Lingfield last month and ran at least as well in defeat when second at Wolverhampton last time. This represents by far the longest trip he has encountered in his career to date, but it could develop into a tactical affair with no obvious front-runner in opposition and Winterlude is fancied to put his superior turn of foot to good use in this penultimate leg of the Placepot.
20:15 - SHAN DUN NA NGALL (2) is thriving at present and recorded his fourth victory from five starts for the Amy Murphy yard at Lingfield four weeks ago. He has a further 4 lb hike in the weights to contend with here, but remains one to keep onside in his current mood and can see off the attentions of the unexposed Money Talks.
