"Spring Loaded promises to get the good pace that suits him well here, with Mishaal and Yeeow just some of the front runners in the line up..."

13:10 - Boater is a likely type on pedigree for this race, the second two-year-old contest of the year in Britain, as she's out of a half-sister to 1999 Norfolk Stakes winner Warm Heart, and also hails from the Mark Johnston yard that saddled Rah Rah to win this race last year. Market clues could bring in Playful Trickster, whose dam was fourth in the 2003 UAE 1000 Guineas, and Jenji, one of five runners from the David Evans stable and ridden by Adam Kirby.

13:40 - David Evans also has five runners in the second division of the fillies' juvenile maiden - hence why it's been divided - with Adam Kirby on board Mesmeric Moment. She's clearly of interest, though perhaps not so much as her stablemate Rapacity Alexander (Cathy Gannon) who cost 90,000 guineas as a yearling and is a sister o high-class Hong Kong sprinter Peniaphobia. Chupalla and Stormy Clouds represent the yards of Johnston and Hannon (who won this race with Tiggy Wiggy in 2014) and are obvious threats.

14:15 - Restorer has clearly had his problems given he's run just once since disappointing in the 2014 Racing Post Trophy, but he won that race, a listed event, at Newmarket last October and may be able to crack on this year. He must concede weight all round here, but top-rated Windshear could well find this trip too short (and this race could a be tune-up for other targets) and second top-rated Our Channel is stepping back out of handicaps, admittedly after winning two of his last three starts.

14:50 - Viewpoint was sold quite cheaply (8,000 guineas) out of the Richard Hannon yard last autumn, but it hasn't taken long for Mick Appleby to get to grips with him, and the gelding caught the eye on his second start for his new trainer when a close fourth at Wolverhampton last week. That race over just short of a mile and a quarter, and he promises to be well suited by the return to eleven furlongs here. Barsanti is an obvious threat having made an impressive handicap debut on his first start for Roger Varian, while another last-time-out winner, Pactolus, is also considered.

15:25 - Spring Loaded is something of an all-weather winning machine, taking six of his 10 starts on an artificial surface, including his last three, and he can extended that tally in this six-furlong handicap. Spring Loaded promises to get the good pace that suits him well here, with Mishaal and Yeeow just some of the front runners in the line up, and he clearly gets on well with jockey Shane Kelly two (two from two on the gelding). Steelriver arguably should have won at Wolverhampton last time and is next best ahead of last year's winner Related.

16:00 - Hermitage Bay has burnt a few fingers so far, a beaten favourite on both of his starts, but he remains a useful prospect and may be able to make it third-time lucky dropping back to seven furlongs in this maiden. That said, Cape Banjo is a form danger and may also prove a threat for the early lead, so this perhaps isn't a betting race.

16:35 - Duchess of Marmite wasn't seen to best effect when fourth at Chelmsford when last seen seven week ago and, with a couple of prominent racers (especially Apollo Eleven) in opposition here, she may be able to get back to winning ways. It's a pretty competitive race, though, with the consistent Precision Five, the hat-trick-seeking Rose Above and the returning Injun Sands all credibly rivals.

17:10 - The switch to forcing tactics appeared to suit Elysian Prince when he won at Lingfield last month and he should give another good account here. However, he could face competition from the early lead from Zambeasy and Captain Navarre, and a strongly-run race would suit the unexposed Prendergast Hill judged on the way he's run in his three races so far, held up when winning at Epsom when last seen last September.
