"Richards has clearly found the key to Wot A Shot very quickly and there could easily be more to come."

14:00 - Donald McCain has a good record in this race and Beatu is respected, but useful Flat horse Lycidas looks the one to beat, after his good second at Marken Rasen last time. He will need to settle properly to be seen to best effect (raced freely on both starts over hurdles) but will probably have enough to go close even if that is not fully rectified today.

14:30 - Wot A Shot had Seven Devils well beaten at Perth last time on his first start for Nicky Richards and it is surprising to see the pair so close in the market despite an 8 lb swing in the weights. Richards has clearly found the key to Wot A Shot very quickly and there could easily be more to come. Wincanton winner Nefyn Bay looks the obvious danger, but he probably won't be able to dominate like he did that day with the likes of Hope For Glory and Duhallowcountry also being front runners, and he is worth taking on with that in mind.

15:00 - Traditional Dancer recorded a bloodless first success on his first start for Iain Jardine at Perth earlier this month in a maiden, and with more progress to come now sent handicapping from a fair mark, it is difficult to see him out of the places here, and it he should be able to justify odds-on favouritism.

15:35 - Looking Well could have gone close at Carlisle last time but for a late error, and providing his jumping holds up here, he should put in a bold bid to get off the mark over fence, with his second to Definitly Red (who has since won off a BHA mark of 137) earlier in the season making this mark look workable.

16:05 - Full Jack was well backed for a valuable Hunter Chase at Cheltenham in April but possibly found the run coming too soon, given that he was off for nearly a year prior to his reappearance effort which came just a month prior. He should have no problem with the step back up in trip (second in a Highland National in 2015) and should be on the premises along with last year's winner Cave Hunter, though the latter was particularly laboured when last seen under rules in April and is worth taking on for the Placepot.

16:40 - Orby's Man won well last time from a tumbling handicap mark but he his profile is not that convincing overall and can be taken on as favourite for the last leg of the Placepot. What Happens Now lost plenty of ground at his fences when winning at Carlisle last time due to jumping out to the left, and the switch to this left-handed course looks to be very much in his favour. He should stay this trip and looks a decent bet with more to come on just his third chasing start.
