12:30 - Demographic won a fairly modest affair last time (for all the second has franked the form since) and could be worth taking on at the head of the market. This represents a drop in grade for MUTHABIR (1), who needs to prove his stamina for this trip, but is on a workable mark and does have Richard Johnston taking over in the saddle. David Pipe has hit form in the last week, and his SWEETTOOTHTOMMY (4) should improve for the step up in trip on his handicap debut.

13:00 - Though it is a little disappointing that BISHOPS COURT (4) didn't manage to win over hurdles last season, he is a chasing type (tall gelding who won his completed start in maiden points) and was in the process of running a pleasing chasing debut under rules at Sedgefield last time before crashing out at the last. He can make amends here.

13:30 - It is hard to know what sort of form Vinnie Red will be in after a long absence, and the percentage call is to avoid him, for all that he represents an in-form yard and is on a workable mark based on his form from a couple of seasons ago. HERONS HEIR (8) looks the type to excel over fences this season when the time comes, but has been doing little wrong over hurdles of late, winning at Kempton before posting a good third there last time. Harry Skelton is back on board today, and he should run well. He is preferred to Wistari Rocks, who is up in grade for winning an uncompetitive race with ease last time.

14:00 - A tricky race to assess, with all of the field having something or other to prove. MORE OF THAT (4) falls in to that category, but he is arguably the most talented horse in the line-up, and if he runs his race, should win. That of course is no given, however, and it could also be worth including DODGING BULLETS (5), who should stay an easy two and a half miles. He needs to bounce back from a poor run at Ascot last time, but he had previously ran well for third in the Haldon Gold Cup, and a reproduction of that sort of form would see him go close.

14:30 - BURBANK (3) was an expensive purchase for top connections and made a really taking winning debut in a bumper at Newbury last month, winning easily by six lengths, and he is the one to beat here based on that. TOP TUG (1) has enjoyed a good time of things since joining Alan King and should also win more races.

15:00 - PEGGIES VENTURE (9) took her record to two wins from three runs last time at Lingfield despite stumbling three furlongs out, and she may well have more to offer here. She is preferred to Appy Days, who faces a quick turnaround after her win at Lingfield last time.

15:30 - A tricky finale. Copperfacejack looks opposable on his overall profile as favourite, but there is not a great deal to take him on with, and his last two efforts have been fairly solid (bumped in to the progressive Yanmare twice).

Recommendations:

Win back HERONS HEIR in the 13:30

Placepot permutation:

12:30 - 1, 4
13:00 - 4
13:30 - 8
14:00 - 4, 5
