13:40 - SOLIGHOSTER (8) created a fairly good impression when winning a Newcastle bumper on his Rules debut in November and produced an even better effort in defeat when second under a penalty at Huntingdon last time. He makes his hurdling debut in what doesn't look the strongest race of its kind here and is fancied to continue jockey Noel Fehily's fine form of late (six winners from last 21 rides), with Bolving feared most of the remainder.

14:10 - CUCKLINGTON (2) was disappointing when fifth on his chasing debut at Wincanton three weeks ago, but he is entitled to improve with that initial experience under his belt and certainly looks the type to do better over fences. He remains potentially very well-treated on the pick of his form over hurdles and can get off the mark now dropped in grade for this second leg of the Placepot. Wish In A Well was a dominant winner of his most recent outing at Fakenham and looks the main danger.

14:40 - POTTERS APPROACH (5) shaped well when third on his hurdling debut at Plumpton last month, enjoying the run of the race on the front end and keeping on well to be beaten less than 10 lengths. The form of that race could hardly have worked out better (winner and runner-up have both won since) and, with nothing of that calibre likely to be in opposition here, Potters Approach is expected to prove extremely difficult to beat and can open his account over hurdles at the second time of asking.

15:10 - GOLDEN BIRTHDAY (5) produced a career-best to get off the mark over hurdles at Plumpton four weeks ago, showing the best turn of foot to lead as the field entered the final furlong and always doing enough to hold the sustained challenge of the runner-up. He could yet prove capable of even better after just three starts over hurdles and is fancied to take advantage of what looks a fair mark on handicap debut for the in-form Harry Fry (five winners from last 13 runners).

15:40 - MR BACHSTER (5) has been well below form on his first two starts of the current campaign, but is beginning to receive some respite from the handicapper as a result and is now only 2 lb higher than when winning impressively at Towcester 12 months ago. He should be thereabouts if bouncing back to something like his best form here and looks overpriced in this penultimate leg of the Placepot. Tikkapick is consistent and can give the selection most to do back over fences.

16:10 - STIFF UPPER LIP (2) looked in need of the run when fourth on his return from 10 months off the track here last time, pushed along as the field turned into the straight and keeping on at the one pace to be beaten less than 10 lengths. He is entitled to improve with that outing under his belt and - 2 lb clear of his nearest rival on Timeform ratings - Stiff Upper Lip appears to hold sound claims if building on that effort and makes most appeal in this final leg of the Placepot.

Recommendation:

Win back CUCKLINGTON in the 14:10 at Fontwell

Placepot permutation:

13:40 - 8
14:10 - 2
14:40 - 5
15:10 - 5
