12:25 - MIDTECH VALENTINE (4) will be suited by this small-field scenario and could be worth chancing for the win first time up over fences for her in-form yard. That said, with just four runners, we also need to take VALSEUR DU GRANVAL (1) in the Placepot. Tom George's charge has already reached a fairly useful level in this sphere and is a big player after his fine effort at Newbury.

12:55 - Not a strong-looking event and dual Flat winner WORK (10) could be hard to beat if improving on her Ffos Las effort when she unseated when going well. Hestina also made a promising start over hurdles in a listed contest at Aintree and is respected, while Chandos Belle is one of several worth a look starting out in this sphere.

13:30 - A big field for this novice hurdle, but useful bumper winner BARDD (2) was sent off second favourite for a Sandown novice hurdle that Nicky Henderson has farmed in recent years, so he is obviously quite well regarded, and is expected to come on for that experience to win here. Rockportian and Dubh des Champs are a couple of interesting hurdling debutants in a maiden hurdle which isn't as competitive as the numbers suggest.

14:05 - It was hard not to be impressed by the way KALANE (6) did the job in a handicap chase here recently, and while this represents a far sterner test, the seven-year-old could be equal to the task; Kalane's trainer Amy Murphy, the youngest in the country, has made a bright start to her new career. Briery Belle made it 2-2 over fences in good style at Warwick and, with the possibility of even better to come from her in this sphere, she has to be feared. French import Viky du Reponet is one to note in the betting.

14:40 - A tricky race, so we'll take three in the Placepot. OH LAND ABLOOM (7) was knocking on the door when last seen in August/September, and with this return to three miles promising to suit, is included, along with CHASE END CHARLIE (8) and the returning TRUSTAN TIMES (2) who both hail from yards in really good form. Ten Sixty, Abricot de L'Oasis and Ami Desbois are all respected.

15:10 - ADAM DU BRETEAU (6) arrives in good order on the back of what rates a career-best effort at Fontwell three weeks ago, and in the hope he jumps as well here, he could be worth chancing from a 5 lb higher mark. That said, there is a danger he could get taken on for the lead by Beeves and Ready Token, which would suit the returning Looking Well. Willoughby Hedge is another danger.

15:40 - MISS MASH is unsurprisingly turned out quickly following last week's demolition job at Bangor, and as such looks very well-in under a penalty. Fellow last-time-out winner Kassis can chase the selection home.

Recommendations:

Win back BARDD in the 13:30

Placepot permutation:

12:25 - 1, 4
12:55 - 10
13:30 - 2
14:05 - 6
14:40 - 2, 7, 8
15:10 - 6
