"He was of course entitled to need his reappearance run, which came at Haydock earlier this month, and he is worth chancing with that under his belt in a modest affair."

18:20 - Spiritual Lady didn't improve on her Newmarket maiden win when fifth last time in the valuable Super Sprint, but she didn't have an ideal race (took keen hold and was bumped soon after the start) so is worth another chance here from what looks a workable opening handicap mark (the second and the fourth from her maiden have gone on to win since) and should be in the first two home.

18:50 - Baileys Apprentice hails from a top juvenile yard and is half-sister to to Folly Bridge who won as a two-year-old, so makes some appeal on paper for all she is weak enough in the early markets. The standard setter though is Richard Hannon's See The Sea, who shapes as though the step up to this trip will suit and could belatedly build on his promising debut second now tackling an extra furlong.

19:20 - Mustaaqeem could run well from the front down in trip after a creditable fourth in what appealed as a strong race at Ascot last time. He remains lightly raced and could be capable of showing better form in time for his in-form yard. Fuwairt is up in class after winning over 7f here on his all-weather debut last time, but did produce a career-best effort that day and is worth a shot at this trip. He could run well at a big price.

19:50 - A rather disappointing turnout leaves a tricky four-runner event. The form of Haddajah's sixth at Ascot on debut is working out well, with subsequent winners Abingdon, Ajman Princess and Skiffle filling the first three places, and she is worth including here after seemingly finding heavy ground too testing last time at Newmarket. The Begum was an impressive winner of an Ayr maiden last time and also looks set to go well on her handicap bow.

20:20 - Blue Jean Baby was a big price on debut at Nottingham (50/1) but that didn't stop her from running into a place in what could prove to be a useful fillies maiden (plenty of big yards represented) and she should give a good account here along with Entsar who didn't improve on her debut effort straight away at Doncaster last time (third) but could still have more to offer at some point.

20:50 - Hard to knock the consistency of Thomas Blossom who has finished in the first three home on all four of his starts this year. However, he obviously looks slightly vulnerable for win purposes, and is worth taking on from a betting perspective at his current odds. The one to back against him could be Atalanta Bay, who was progressing nicely on the all-weather for this yard at the end of 2014, and clearly had some sort of issue which kept him off the track for 22 months. He was of course entitled to need his reappearance run, which came at Haydock earlier this month, and he is worth chancing with that under his belt in a modest affair.

Recommendations:

Back Atalanta Bay in the 20:50

Placepot permutation:
