Timeform take you through the card at Chelmsford on Thursday evening.

17:40 - THE FEATHERED NEST (8) was strong in the betting and offered something to work on when third on her racecourse debut at York earlier this month. She defied her inexperience to get within two lengths of the winner that day and, with trainer Richard Fahey in such fine form at present (six winners from last 15 runners), The Feathered Nest is fancied to show the benefit of that initial outing and can get off the mark in this opening leg of the Placepot.

18:10 - TAGUR (6) showed improved form when second on his most recent outing at Newcastle, travelling strongly on the front end throughout and simply unlucky to bump into such a well-handicapped rival on the day. There is no guarantee cheekpieces will prove quite so effective second time round, but Tagur looks sure to be thereabouts if reproducing the same level of form and makes most appeal with the Placepot in mind.

18:40 - FAST ON (12) shaped well when second on his most recent outing at Cork 12 days ago, still having plenty to do as the field turned into the straight and ultimately doing extremely well to get within a half-length of the winner. That form gives him the edge over Majestic Girl on Timeform ratings here and this Irish raider looks sure to run well. He is joined in the Placepot by FRIVOLOUS PRINCE (16), who is now 2 lb lower than his last winning mark and could be dangerous if a change of headgear has the desired effect.

19:10 - BAZZAT (1) is thriving at present and completed the hat-trick with a comfortable success at Kempton nine days ago. He has a wide draw to contend with here, but remains one to keep onside in his current mood and is fancied to defy a 6 lb penalty in this fourth leg of the Placepot. TOUCH OF COLOUR (10) has been disappointing when down the field the last twice, but is now 2 lb lower than when second at Brighton last month and could make the frame at a fair price.

19:40 - EXCELLENT GEORGE (4) can be forgiven a below-par effort on his most recent outing at Newmarket, forced to race alone on the disadvantaged side of the track and making little impression once asked for his effort in the final two furlongs. He is better-judged on the form of his previous second off this mark at the same venue and should be involved if bouncing back on his return from over five weeks on the sidelines, with Burning Thread likely to prove the main danger.

20:10 - GUNG HO JACK (7) hasn't won on turf since landing a nursery at Goodwood in 2011, but acquitted himself well when three-quarters of a length third on his most recent outing at that venue and can be expected to do better now returned to his favoured surface. He should be fresher than most at this stage of the season after just three starts and is fancied to continue trainer John Best's fine form of late (three winners from last eight runners) in this final leg of the Placepot.

20:40 - CADLAND LAD (5) ran respectably when fourth on his most recent outing at this venue and has now made the first four in each of his last nine starts here. He has certainly shown enough to suggest he is up to winning a race of this nature and can gain the victory his consistency deserves, with Concur feared most of the remainder.

21:10 - ROSIE CROWE (5) ran her best race for a while when second on her penultimate outing here and makes most appeal in the finale from a mark 2 lb lower than when successful at this venue 12 months ago.
