18:05 - This looks a good opportunity for Clotilde to get off the mark, after she shaped better than the bare result when sixth at Wolverhampton last time. She was trapped wide that day on her handicap debut and gave the impression that a return to a bare mile - which she gets here - would suit. Clotilde is taking on some much more exposed opponents here and is worth banking on for Placepot purposes.
18:40 - Eljaddaaf did well to score at Kempton last time after enduring a far from ideal passage, and a 5 lb rise in the weights probably won't be enough to stop him following up. There doesn't appear to be much pace on here, however, and it could be worth including another option in case things go against the favourite. Ghost Train has been in good heart of late (found the places on his last four starts) and could run well again from a low draw considering he should be on the front-end of proceedings under Luke Morris, so is also worth including.
19:10 - The standard-setting Havre De Paix may struggle to give plenty of weight away to the less exposed Timeless Art, who looked capable of winning a maiden when third at York last time, despite still showing signs of inexperience, and Karl Burke's runner looks to have an excellent chance to get off the mark this evening.
19:40 - Dark Red will be popular as Ryan Moore's only ride on the card this evening, and he may well show improved form on the back of a break after running well in some hot mid-summer handicaps last season. However, improvement is necessary for him to get off the mark, and it could be worth taking him on with both Whoopsy Daisy - who won his first start for Jane Chapple-Hyam with something in hand last time - and Mystical Spirit, who got off the mark in handicaps last time under Paul Mulrennan and may well still have more to offer.
20:10 - Current favourite Ashford Island attracted support again last time, and although he was better than the bare result (met some trouble) he has had plenty of tries not and it could be worth taking him on in such an open event. Fellow three-year-old Ormanumps is interesting back at this trip, after being unsuited by the drop back to 6 furlongs last time. Prior to that he had finished third to subsequent dual winner Nouvelli Dancer over C&D despite being poorly placed, and he looks worth a bet here. The unexposed Toffee Apple has attracted support with Luke Morris taking over in the saddle, and he is also worth including.
20:40 - This is a tricky conclusion to the card, but Blue Vision put in his most encouraging effort in maiden company on his final start, and should have more to offer in handicaps. Judicial Enquiry seemingly improved out of the blue on his final start in nurseries, though it was his first start at 10 furlongs on an all-weather surface, and a 5 lb rise in the weights does not look beyond him.
