16:40 - OMRAN (4) shaped encouragingly when second on his racecourse debut at Doncaster last month, travelling well in mid-division and staying on strongly close home to get within three-quarters of a length of the winner. That form leaves him 3 lb clear of his nearest rival on Timeform ratings here and he should prove extremely difficult to beat in this opening leg of the Placepot.

17:15 - PLUS NIGHT (8) has won or been placed in each of his five starts to date and ran as well as ever when third on his most recent outing at Lingfield. He looked the likeliest winner for the majority of that contest (headed close home) and has to enter calculations in the Placepot, with no obvious reason why he shouldn't be competitive from the same mark here.

17:50 - WITH PLEASURE (2) failed to meet market expectations when sixth on his most recent outing at this venue, but appeared to have his stamina stretched by the longer trip on that occasion and will be more at home back over the same C&D as when second in a stronger race seven days earlier. That represented by far the best effort of his career to date and he can continue trainer David O'Meara's fine form of late (six winners from last 13 runners) if in the same mood.

18:25 - SHYPEN (5) was disappointing when down the field on debut for Richard Fahey at Lingfield last month, but quickly bounced back with a good second on her most recent outing at the same venue and doesn't look too harshly treated from 2 lb higher in the weights here. Indeed, there could be more to come on just her third start for this yard and Shypen is fancied to take the drop back in trip in her stride, with the improving Alkhor feared most of the remainder.

19:00 - POLYMNIA (8) remains without a win from 11 starts in her career to date, but her consistency is hard to fault and she ran her usual sound race when second in a maiden over C&D last month. She appeared to see out this trip well enough at the first attempt that day and, with the possibility of more to come in blinkers for the first time, Polymnia is fancied to gain the reward her consistency of late deserves and can belatedly open her account for Richard Hannon in this penultimate leg of the Placepot.

19:30 - SKIDBY MILL (2) has been well below form the last twice, but is beginning to receive some respite from the handicapper as a result and shaped as if all the ability remains intact when fourth at this venue five weeks ago. She is reunited with jockey George Baker for the first time since here and - 6 lb lower than when last successful at Lingfield in March - Skidby Mill is taken to see off the attentions of Catastrophe and can regain the winning thread now back up in trip.

20:00 - JUSTICE ROCK (7) hasn't been sighted on a racecourse since finishing sixth here in August, but is 3 lb clear of his nearest rival on Timeform ratings here and could be the answer with headgear refitted and Adam Kirby taking over in the saddle.

Recommendations:

Win back SKIDBY MILL in the 19:30 at Chelmsford

Placepot permutation:

16:40 - 4
17:15 - 8
17:50 - 2
18:25 - 5
19:00 - 8
19:30 - 2
