"He is up another 4 lbs for his win here over 6 furlongs last time out, but he is progressive and may yet have more to offer."

14:10 - Biff Johnson stormed clear of the field over C&D three days ago on his first start for Keith Dalgleish, and will be hard to beat under a 6 lb penalty if in the same sort of form. The favourite is not yet proven when being turned out quickly, however, and it could also be worth including Runaiocht, who has been in good form recently at Lingfield, and should run his race once again.

14:40 - Royal Birth's tendency to give away ground at the start makes him just about opposable over this C&D at the prices, and although he got away with it last time when showing an impressive turn of foot to win, he is a hostage to fortune more than most. The lightly-raced Stake Acclaim could be the way to go, given that he is drawn low, and should be able to gain a useful position based on his early speed. It is worth forgiving his reappearance effort here over C&D, where he was trapped wide, and he could be hard to catch if Royal Birth does not start well enough.

15:10 - Gracious John has been making waves in these tight, small-field races, and it would be no surprise if he brought up the hat trick here in what promises to be a similar scenario today. Field of Vision was behind Gracious John at Kempton last month over 6 furlongs after three months off, but he is set to be more suited by this 5-furlong trip, and looks to have the best chance of overturning the favourite.

15:40 - The lightly-raced five-year-old Gentleman is yet to tackle a mile, but based on the way he won at this track over 7 furlongs in January, he is expected to handle the extra furlong today. He is up another 4 lbs for his win here over 6 furlongs last time out, but he is progressive and may yet have more to offer. Supersta will be a danger to all if returning to form (was too keen under a change to front-running tactics last time) but he has a little to prove in truth.

16:10 - Although she is currently drifting significantly in the market, Mariee looks a solid option here after maintaining her unbeaten record on her handicap debut last time at Wolverhampton. The way she went away at the finish that day indicates that this extra furlong will suit her, and should bring about even more improvement. Overall she should be hard to beat.

16:40 - This four-horse race looks to be a match between the odds-on Town's History, who looks to have been found a very good opportunity to get off the mark on the third attempt, and Phantom Flipper, who is fully exposed, but is also worth including due to the trappy nature of these small-field affairs.
