Timeform take you through the card at Chelmsford City on Sunday.
"That form is beginning to work out well (runner-up filled the same spot in yesterday's Solario Stakes at Sandown)..."
14:10 - SAXAGOGO (1) produced a career-best to get off the mark on his handicap debut at Newcastle nine days ago, powering into contention as the field entered the final two furlongs and staying on well to draw two lengths clear. The way he finished his race suggests the return to six furlongs will not be an issue here and, although a 8 lb hike in the weights can hardly be considered lenient, Saxagogo remains open to more improvement after just four starts and is expected to follow up for his in-form yard.
14:40 - ACCENTO (1) looked desperately in need of the experience when fourth on his racecourse debut at Doncaster last month, hanging right when asked to deliver his challenge in the final furlong and giving the impression he would come on plenty with that initial outing under his belt. That form is beginning to work out well (runner-up filled the same spot in yesterday's Solario Stakes at Sandown) and Accento is preferred to some interesting newcomers in this second leg of the Placepot.
15:10 - MISTY LORD (6) wasn't seen to best effect when third on his most recent outing at this venue, suffering a troubled passage as the field entered the final furlong and ultimately doing well to get within a length of the winner. He also looked quite green through the first half of that contest and - still relatively lightly-raced for a three-year-old - Misty Lord is fancied to show the benefit of that experience and can regain the winning thread.
15:40 - MISTERIOSO (11) wasn't seen to best effect in the Stewards' Sprint Stakes at Goodwood last time, suffering interference as the field entered the final two furlongs and not given at all a hard time thereafter. He can be forgiven that below par effort in the circumstances and - an encouraging fourth on his penultimate outing over this C&D - Misterio remains open to more improvement as a sprinter and makes more appeal than most with the Placepot in mind here.
16:10 - SIR DOMINO (10) was disappointing when down the field on his most recent outing at Hamilton, but he was forced to deliver his challenge on the disadvantaged side of the track on that occasion and was also keener than ideal through the first half of the contest. He deserves another chance to confirm the promise of his earlier second at Carlisle and - with the booking of George Baker a positive - Sir Domino looks overpriced in this penultimate leg of the Placepot.
16:40 - ALWAYS SUMMER (8) fared better than the bare result when fourth on her recent handicap debut at Newmarket, forced to deliver her challenge from further back than ideal in a steadily-run race and ultimately doing well to get within four lengths of the better-placed winner. The way she finished her race suggests the step up to this longer trip will in her favour and - 2 lb clear of Ballyfarsoon on ratings - Always Summer is fancied to open her account at the fifth time of asking.
17:10 - RASMEE (5) was held back by inexperience when only fifth on his racecourse debut at Nottingham in June and showed the benefit of that initial outing with an improved third at Wolverhampton last time. That effort still gives him a bit to find with the principals on form, but it would be a surprise if he didn't prove capable of better and he is taken to land the finale.
