"His bumper form - where he made the frame on both occasions when trained by Tony Coyle - was on good ground and it would be no surprise to see an improved performance today."

13:55 - Roccos Delight catches the eye on his fairly useful Flat form, but his stamina for this trip is not proven (only stays a mile on the Flat) so the standard-setting Ciao Cielo is preferred for Placepot purposes. The Irish raider has made the frame on both hurdling starts to date, at Kilbeggan and Tramore, and shouldn't be too far away here if running to that sort of level again.

14:25 - Naturally for a novice handicap there are plenty of unexposed sorts here and a number of possible improvers. Motion To Strike and Tour de Ville are the obvious ones open to improvement on what they have shown to date as they make their handicap debuts but the answer could well be Lift The Lid, who represents the red-hot Neil Mulholland yard - who had four winners on Sunday - and should appreciate the return to this better ground after behind well beaten in four hurdling starts on heavy ground. His bumper form - where he made the frame on both occasions when trained by Tony Coyle - was on good ground and it would be no surprise to see an improved performance today.

15:00 - This is an open event and a chance can be given to the majority of the field. The two to take against the rest could be Vodka Wells - who has been given a chance by the handicapper from this mark and returned to form when second at Hexham last time - and Never Up, who was well held on his first outing since leaving George Moore but showed some promise and was much better than the distance beaten suggested.

15:35 - Easy to see why Alderbrook Lad has been supported early on for this race seeing as he is two from three at this track over fences and may well have had this race - which he won last season from a BHA mark of 123 - on his radar all season. His mark has dropped somewhat to just 2 lb above his last winning mark, a win which also came at this track, and he looks to have solid Placepot claims. Edmund also scored at this track last May and is worth including, arriving here in top form after two wins at Sedgefield.

16:10 - The front-running pair of Settledoutofcourt and Scotswell could set this up well for thirteen-year-old Rebeccas Choice, who capitalised on his falling mark when getting back to winning ways at Fakenham last time. He is only up 3 lb in the weights for that win and after finishing second in this race two years ago, he looks to have plenty in his favour.

16:45 - Done A Runner was poor the last time he was seen under rules, which was at Cheltenham's Hunter Chase meeting in 2015 when he was trained by Alan Hill, but he has continued his prolific form between the flags since then for this yard, and arrives here on the back of a win earlier this month. He looks set to run well and should make the places.

17:15 - Chances are given to Tickenwolf, who scored on his first start for Micky Hammond at Wetherby last time and could have more to offer, and Gordon Elliott's Steamboat Bill, though there are plenty of others in with chances in what looks a fiercely competitive race.
