"Blue Kascade looked as good as ever from the front last time, and as a winner at this track last season, looks set to make another bold bid..."

12:55 - It is no surprise to see the unexposed Conquer Gold at the head of the market for this maiden hurdle, after she shaped as though 2m 1f was too much of a test of speed for her last time at Carlisle. As a point winner, her jumping should be fairly assured, and she looks hard to oppose in the opener here.

13:25 - This drop back in trip isn't sure to suit current favourite Sevenballs of Fire based on the way he shaped last time at Kelso, and he could be one to take on as a result. Irish raider Infrontofthejudge has been well supported in the early markets, and could be worth including, after running respectably on his first start under rules when second at Down Royal in December. Bertalus may well be one for handicaps, but he has shown something to work on on his two previous starts, and has not gone unsupported in the market early on, so could also be worth including.

14:00 - Lake View Lad could be a great deal better than this field, and while it is a slight concern that he is yet to complete in two starts over hurdles - including when falling at the final flight last time over C&D when looking the likely winner - it is hard not to include him for the Placepot. Superior Command should be suited by this increase in trip, and could be the one to pick up the pieces should the favourite fail to negotiate these obstacles once again.

14:35 - Un Noble may well have more to offer over fences after he made his third start in this sphere a winning one last time at Southwell, but he has been well found in the market, and could be one to take on from a betting point of view. Kilbree Chief has the size for chasing, and made a satisfactory start to life over fences when second last time at Kelso after a long absence. He is entitled to come on for that start, and looks good value against the favourite, considering he is even less exposed.

15:05 - Supreme Asset is well handicapped, now operating from a 13 lb lower mark than when placing at this track last season, and looks worth including here with Brian Harding taking over in the saddle. Donald McCain's runner is not the most reliable, however, and Scimon Templar - who put in his best effort for a while when fourth over C&D last time - is also worth including.

15:40 - Blue Kascade has been given a break since scoring under this rider at Wetherby in October, which looks a positive move given that all three of his career wins have come when fresh. Blue Kascade looked as good as ever from the front last time, and as a winner at this track last season, looks set to make another bold bid, with further improvement a possibility given his profile over fences.

16:15 - Discoverie has recorded a couple of solid performances since joining Kenneth Slack, and may have found a good opportunity here to get off the mark for his new yard. He looks short enough on the face of his overall profile, however, and with the potential improver Suzy's Music not yet supported in the market on handicap debut, this looks a race to leave from a betting perspective.
