"That triumph suggested that there could well be more to come, so he rates as a confident selection to double up..."

13:40 - We begin today's action with what is effectively a coin toss. Two-runner races are usually highly tactical affairs, and as a result this could quite easily go either way. Fairytale Theatre was the better of the two over hurdles and probably sets the standard, but Captain Hox has the benefit of experience over fences, it makes sense to include both runners.

14:10 - Oldgrangewood is rated some way clear of his rivals, and shouldn't have to get out of second gear to open his account over hurdles. In a fairly big field, it may prove wise to add a second selection in case of disaster, and Orioninverness stands out as a clear second preference, as he's entitled to improve on what he's shown so far, though it would be a major surprise if anything proves good enough to turn over the heavily odds-on favourite barring mishaps.

14:40 - Matters quickly get tougher in our next leg, with a wide open handicap hurdle to dissect. Question of Faith sets the standard on the back of her second last time, though she is 4 lb higher here and there are plenty of dangers. Galleons Way shaped better on his last start and can get involved, whilst Hatton Springs looks to have a lot to do having failed to follow up his breakthrough win here on revised terms last time. However, a chance is taken on King's Chorister, who is somewhat inconsistent, but is a proven performer at this level. He'll need to bounce back from a tame run last week, but that's not out of the realms of possibility, and he could well be up to winning this off a fair mark.

15:15 - Another open affair. Tap Night is the obvious starting point, and would be of serious interest if running anything near his old form. However, he carries top weight today, and is probably best watched. Octagon has got to prove he stays the trip, but would be of interest if doing so, whilst Caledonia has more to offer in this sphere and is considered. A narrow preference though goes to Takingrisks, who is promising and looks to be feasibly treated after getting off the mark (albeit in fortunate circumstances) at Kelso in December. He has scope for more improvement on his handicap debut, and he could prove too good here.

15:50 - Little Glenshee bounced back to form when runner up last time behind subsequent Eider Chase winner Rocking Blues, and with that form now looking particularly strong, she gets the nod off a lowly mark. Willie Hall is in good form and can go close up in trip, whilst Art Lord returns to the scene of his last win and also rates as a main danger to the selection.

16:20 - Jonny Eager was a commanding winner at Carlisle last time and that triumph suggested that there could well be more to come, so he rates as a confident selection to double up, despite a sizeable hike in the weights. Kilbree Chief heads the dangers, having run consistently enough in this sphere to suggest that a race of this nature could well be within his remit.

16:50 - Progress Drive has the benefit of experience on his side, and having been strong in the market all morning, gets the nod today after a promising third here last month. There's little form to go off, but the biggest danger could well be Grays Choice, who has shown some promise on his two starts so far.
