"...there's every chance he can land the hat-trick..."
Timeform on Keyser Soze
14:00 - For all ELYSEES PALACE (2) has been unable to win since his reappearance at this course last month, he has still run with credit and the return to this more galloping track will suit better than Lingfield last time. Admittedly, it was disappointing he couldn't get the job done last time, having had the run of the race, but it's possible he would have preferred to come off a stronger pace, something he should get here. There should be more to come from him still, and he can improve his trainers record with such types. CLAIRE UNDERWOOD (3) looks firmly on the up at present and, having stayed on powerfully to lead late over C&D last time, she is another to keep firmly on side with her claimer taking a useful 5 lb off
14:35 - AMERICAN GRAFFITI (1) may have been a shade disappointing last time but his fast-finishing debut at Chelmsford sticks in the mind and there's almost certainly a good deal more to unlock now he's trying this longer trip. Battle of Paradise is the danger having posted an excellent initial effort when second from a wide draw at Kempton.
15:10 - KEYSER SOZE (1) has overcome unfavourable circumstances to win at Lingfield the last twice, the amount of ground he made up last time particularly impressive, so, with this track often suiting patient tactics, there's every chance he can land the hat-trick. Pinnata is the obvious alternative seeking a four-timer and Breathless Times is expected to be back on his game following a minor blip.
15:45 - QUIET ENDEAVOUR (5) hasn't been at his best on his last two starts, but the progression he showed on the all-weather previously is still fresh in the memory, and there is reason to think he can go well here. On paper, there isn't much pace on in this race, Deep Intrigue the only other natural front runner, so if Quiet Endeavour can get into a good rhythm in front, he could prove tough to peg back in this small field. Trainer Archie Watson is in good form at present, and has a good record with sprinters, so there is enough in his favour to make him worth chancing at the prices. Last-time-out winner Barbill looks an obvious danger, though.
16:20 - Master Diver (6) shaped better than the bare result over six furlongs here on his penultimate start and duly confirmed that promise when opening his account at Dundalk last time, taking advantage of some good placing by his shrewd trainer. He won with plenty in hand under a hands-and-heels ride, and left every impression that he will stay this one-mile trip, and is definitely one to keep on the right side now moving into handicaps.
16:50 - PORRIMA (3) has returned an improved model this winter, landing each of her two starts over C&D in recent weeks. She is fancied to make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick, likely at the main expense of Chosen World and Insurplus, who top the list of dangers.
