Nick Shiambouros struck again yesterday when his advice Judicial won. Nick is back with two more selections from Ayr...
"He had previously finished an excellent second to Big Country at Redcar and is best judged on that effort"
Take Nicholas to down the favourite
Nicholas T should make his presence felt in this tricky contest.
This gelding was a little disappointing when finishing down the field behind First Flight over this course last month. He missed the break, and subsequently failed to land a blow behind the easy winner. He had previously finished an excellent second to Big Country at Redcar and is best judged on that effort. I am prepared to give him another chance, and is fairly priced at [4.1] on the exchange.
Ventura Knight is the favourite at [2.68] on the exchange. He was a ready winner at Hamilton earlier this month, but does have to carry a penalty. Looks short enough in my opinion.
Place to land to prize
Lexington Place should go close in this sprint handicap.
This eight-year-old has gradually come down in the weights and is racing off a mark of 63 today. Last August he won off a mark of 71, and showed me enough on his latest start behind Teepee Time that he was running in to form. This looks like the perfect spot for him and is fairly priced at [4.1] on the exchange.
Perfect Words is the obvious danger. He is bidding to win this race for the third year running, and won a handicap over this course on his latest start. At present he is trading at [3.1] on the exchange which is about right.
