Conaglen - Doncaster 13:35
Conaglen produced an encouraging debut effort to finish second over this trip at Newcastle last month, looking unlucky not to win considering he was green in the opening stages, but pulling clear of the remainder of the field. He looks sure to progress and win more races, and shades the verdict here in the hope that he can build on that debut effort. We haven't since Cool Exhibit since he made a winning debut at Nottingham last May, but he would be a threat if ready to go after an absence, while Country is an interesting debutant for the William Haggas team.
Willie John - Doncaster 14:45
While the lightly-raced Willie John's first foray into Group company at Longchamp last September was a disappointing one, he had marked himself out as a really exciting prospect in two starts prior to that, winning a novice race really impressively here in August, and it's interesting that Roger Varian put him away after that outing in France. Indeed, Willie John still rates as a good prospect this year, and he can improve to rewards his trainer's patience with him here. Crowned Eagle and Red Verdon are two smart types who are well established in this sphere, and are big dangers.
Mister Chiang - Doncaster 15:55
Mister Chiang caught the eye when getting off the mark at Chelmsford back in December, doing well to get his nose in front considering that he wasn't suited by the drop back to a mile. The extra two furlongs should therefore suit, and it's likely that he could prove better than his opening handicap mark of 79. He shades the vote to take this over Good Birthday, who improved to score at the third time of asking at Newbury last October, and is another who should improve yet.
