Project Bluebook produced a big effort in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock last time, stepping up markedly on his comeback run, and could find things panning out ideally sitting off a strong pace here with the ground in his favour, so he's preferred to the progressive Magna Cartor, with Manamite also considered in a race where a chance can be given to the bulk of the field.

Oliver's Gold - 15:40 Cartmel

Oliver's Gold is the form horse coming into this and might be put in too short as a result, having filled the runner-up spot on his last four starts. He looks vulnerable from a win perspective, though, and it could be worth backing Fateh against him. He was very strong in the betting switched to handicap company at Ffos Las last time, but failed to complete through no fault of his own, going well when brought down at the seventh by his stablemate. He can gain compensation now.

Beau Sancy showed much improved form after a break and a wind operation when winning a handicap at Kelso by eight lengths last time, looking a useful prospect as he made it four wins from six starts for current connections. He was always travelling well before being asked to take up the running between the last two fences and easily drew clear in the closing stages. A subsequent 12 lb rise is fully justified and he could have even more to offer yet, so is worth backing to follow up in this stronger race.
