Timeform pick out three bets from Pontefract and Uttoxeter on Sunday.
Regal Mirage - 14:30 Pontefract
Tim Easterby continues among the winners, and Regal Mirage arrives right at the top of his game having landed the hat-trick at Hamilton last time. That came under a 6 lb penalty, but he proved his stamina for longer trips, drawing nicely clear in the closing stages to win by three and three quarter lengths in a well-run race. A further 8 lb rise looks fair and, it would be folly to think this thriving three-year-old has reached his limit. Liquid Gold has filled the runner-up spot in all three of her starts to date, but is the type to improve now handicapping up in trip.
Near Kettering - 15:00 Pontefract
Near Kettering opened his account in a Redcar maiden with little depth, but he did show a good attitude on that occasion, and he wasn't disgraced in a hot three-year-old handicap at Newmarket last time. That race is working out well, and on just his fourth start, he has the potential to do better still. Furthermore, three-year-olds have a great record against older horses in middle-distance handicaps at this time of the year and, given he looks the most progressive in the field, he is expected to quickly resume winning ways. Miningrocks has been in tremendous form all summer and should make the selection work hard along with the consistent Beverley Bullet.
Fort Gabrial - 15:15 Uttoxeter
Fort Gabrial has improved right through the handicap this summer, completing the hat-trick at Newton Abbot last time from a 17 lb higher mark than when his run began. He did especially well too, as he was pestered for the lead throughout, but still found plenty to get the better of one who found things unfolding perfectly. Still only a six-year-old, he could yet have more to offer, and should be kept on side for now. A break is likely to have done Dawnieriver some good and she's next best ahead of the inconsistent Lost Legend.
