Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his best bet Unowhatimeanharry won the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham. Nick returns with a couple of selections from Fontwell and Sedgefield...
"Trainer Micky Hammond has done a wonderful job with this individual and clearly has more to offer"
13:40 Fontwell - Solighoster
Solighoster should make his presence felt on his hurdles debut.
This point winner finished second to Ballymountain Boy in a bumper at Huntingdon last month. He delivered a strong challenge two furlongs from home, but could only stay on at one pace when the chips were down. He had previously won a bumper in great style at Newcastle. He has ability and should prove good enough to take this.
At present he is trading at 2.89/5 on the exchange which is just about right.
Accord appears to be the main danger. This gelding finished third to the progressive No Comment at Market Rasen last November. He was beaten a long way, but should find the company more to his liking.
14:20 Sedgefield - Justforjames
The progressive Justforjames should prove difficult to beat in this interesting contest.
This gelding won his second race over this course when beating Thumb Stone Blues last month. He made all the running, and kept on strongly in the closing stages to win easily. Trainer Micky Hammond has done a wonderful job with this individual and clearly has more to offer.
I have backed him at his current price of 2.789/5.
Kelka beat Oscar's Prospect at short odds at Kelso last month. She won with plenty in hand but did not appear to beat much. This mare is heading in the right direction but I think the selection will have her measure.
