"...he really should take all the beating..."

Timeform on Darling Maltaix

Darling Maltaix - 14:10 Wincanton

This looks an excellent opening for Darling Maltaix, who hasn't managed to win over hurdles for Paul Nicholls, but this tall gelding could well prove a different proposition now switched to fences. He was the best of these over hurdles and provided he puts in a clear round of jumping, he really should take all the beating. Boy In A Bentley isn't the most straightforward but rates the biggest danger nonetheless.

Rhythm Is A Dancer - 15:20 Wincanton

This doesn't look the strongest race of its type, and hurdling newcomer Rhythm Is A Dancer, who looked a nice prospect when making all in an Exeter bumper in the spring, is expected to make a winning start in this sphere. He will likely stay further than this trip in time, but should be too strong for Foxtrot Juliet, who could be the one to follow him home, although Some Day Soon would be a big danger in the battle for minor honours if turning up after Cheltenham.

Teaser - 15:55 Wincanton

This looks a weak event, and it could pay to side with the David Pipe-trained Teaser, who was the best of these on the Flat and has joined a good stable ahead of his National Hunt debut. Cheeky Rascal was a maiden on the Flat, but wasn't far behind the level of Teaser and could prove the biggest danger for another yard that do well with such types.
