"...the seven-year-old is taken to emerge on top this time..."

Timeform on Ballyward

Espoir d'Allen - 13:50 Naas

Despite having to concede weight to his 4 rivals, ready preference is for Espoir d'Allen, who made it 6 wins from 7 career starts with a thoroughly decisive success at Limerick during the Christmas period. Wicklow Brave is more than capable when on a going day, but he appears to have gone off the boil and a bigger threat may be posed by Forge Meadow.

Ballyward - 14:20 Naas

This looks a strong race of its type, but Ballyward was just edged out by Shady Operator on debut over fences at Punchestown on New Year's Eve, an excellent effort considering that he was returning from an eight-month absence. With that in mind, and likely to be sharper this time - the stable are also in much better form - the seven-year-old is taken to emerge on top this time. Shady Operator should be on the premises once again, but the selection may have most to fear from Chris's Dream and Discorama.

Dream Conti - 14:50 Naas

This represents a good opportunity for Dream Conti, who has shaped well in maiden hurdles at Punchestown and Leopardstown. He will probably benefit from a stiffer test in time, but is clearly not short of pace having landed a 2m bumper last April. Cool Getaway is entitled to come for last month's Rules debut at Limerick and, along with Envious Editor and Envol Pierji, he is entitled to respect.
