Nick Shiambouros struck again yesterday when he tipped two winners at Doncaster including the Lincoln. Nick returns with two strong fancies from Carlisle and Doncaster...
"He was a Group 2 winner at three and is suited by today’s race conditions"
Back Across The Stars in the 16:10 at Doncaster
14:50 Carlisle - Aye Right
Aye Right looks like the horse to beat in this novices' hurdle.
This bumper winner ran really well on hurdles debut when finishing second to Clondaw Castle at Kelso in January. He was headed two flights from home, but kept on well to hold on to the runner-up position. I think this likeable individual has more to offer and is reasonably priced at 2.56/4 on the Exchange.
Pearl Of The West is the second choice at 2.982/1. She was rated 90 on the level, and was not beaten all that far when finishing fourth to Lord Napier at Ludlow last month. She has every right to move forward, but I am not a huge fan of backing a four-year-old filly at this time of the year.
16:10 Doncaster - Across The Stars
Across The Stars should go close in this intriguing contest.
This five-year-old gelding ran in a couple of high class handicaps at Meydan this winter. On his latest start he finished a closing sixth to Kidmenever. He was given plenty to do three furlongs from home, but ran on willingly in the latter stages. He was a Group 2 winner at three and is suited by today's race conditions. At present he is trading at 3.55 on the Exchange which is more than fair.
Royal Line heads the market at 2.466/4. This lightly raced colt was favourite for the November handicap, but could only manage a fifth place finish behind Saunter. He is open to further improvement, but his price is a little thin to say the least.
