"...there should be better to come from him this year..."

1.55 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden 5f

Timeform Top Rated:
No ratings for this race

Analyst's Verdict:
The one who appeals most on paper is Son of Beauty, who hails from a top yard and it will look significant if the market speaks in his favour. The booking of Pat Smullen heightens interest in Joza and he is also one to monitor closely in the betting. Backpfeifengesicht is most interesting of the remainder.

2.30 Kildare Post & Kildare Now Maiden 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
90 13. DALIYAH G. M. Lyons C. T. Keane
87 12. CROWN LEAH M. D. O'Callaghan L. F. Roche
87 14. HENCE Aidan O'Brien Seamie Heffernan

Analyst's Verdict:
Several likely improvers on show in this maiden and Castletownshend could be the pick of them. He shaped like a ready-made future winner when just touched off over C&D on debut in October. Daliyah will be a big threat if at least matching the pick of her 2-y-o form, as will Hence if coping with the drop back in trip. However, Redhawk makes plenty of appeal on paper and may be the main danger.

3.05 Naas Racecourse Launches The 2018 Flat Season Handicap 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
114+ 8. SORS A. Slattery A. J. Slattery (7)
113 6. GYMKHANA Mrs J. Harrington C. O'Donoghue
112 2. SON OF REST J. A. Stack K. K. Hennessy (5)

Analyst's Verdict:
The handicapper has given Sors a real chance - he's 13 lb lower compared to this time last year - and Andrew Slattery's charge gets the nod in this open-looking contest. Gymkhana goes well fresh and should make a bold bid in defence of his crown, while Son of Rest, representing the yard responsible for 3 of the last 7 winners of this race, is also high on the shortlist.

3.40 Woodlands 100 Club Madrid (Premier Handicap) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
102 11. PALACE GUARD Joseph Patrick O'Brien W. M. Lordan
101+ 13. PALARIVA G. M. Lyons S. P. Davis (5)
100 7. BACHELOR Joseph Patrick O'Brien Seamie Heffernan

Analyst's Verdict:
London Icon showed plenty of promise as a 2-y-o, finishing third on his introduction at the Curragh (form working out well) prior to landing a maiden here in October (runner-up has won subsequently). As an entry in the Irish 2000 Guineas would suggest, he's clearly held in high regard and is taken to make a winning handicap debut. Palariva, Bachelor and Crownthorpe can do battle for minor honours.

4.15 Lodge Park Stud Irish European Breeders Fund Park Express Stakes (Group 3) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
109p 2. ELEGANT POSE G. M. Lyons C. T. Keane
108 3. MAKING LIGHT D. K. Weld Pat Smullen
105 6. SIMMIE A. P. Keatley Shane Foley

Analyst's Verdict:
There was just a short head between Elegant Pose and Making Light when they fought out the finish of a listed event here in October, and it should be close between them once again. With just 4 runs under her belt, Ger Lyons' filly remains unexposed and is taken to master Making Light once again. Panstarr, who was fourth in the aforementioned race at this course, is best of the rest.

4.50 Tote Irish Lincolnshire (Premier Handicap) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
119 14. AUSSIE VALENTINE Adrian McGuinness Shane Foley
118 12. WILD AS THE WIND W. McCreery N. M. Crosse (7)
118 18. ELM GROVE W. McCreery K. J. Leonard (3)

Analyst's Verdict:
The votes goes to Pincheck, who made good strides in 2017, is 2-2 over this C&D and acquitted himself well in listed company when last seen in October. There could be more to come from the son of Invincible Spirit as a 4-y-o. Runner-up in the last 3 renewals of this race, Aussie Valentine should be in the thick of things once again, while Sorelle Delle Rose and Lucky Mistake also merit respect.

5.25 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
94p 6. FULL MOON Aidan O'Brien Donnacha O'Brien
87p 13. RAWAAN M. D. O'Callaghan L. F. Roche
84p 2. CAFFE MACCHIATO A. P. Keatley Shane Foley

Analyst's Verdict:
Aidan O'Brien saddled the winner of this 12 months ago and can repeat the dose with Full Moon. The Declaration of War colt shaped well on debut here in October and while he failed to build on that next time, there should be better to come from him this year. Likely-looking newcomer Timiniya has to be feared, while Rawaan and Caffe Macchiato are others to consider.
