Timeform pick out three bets from Doncaster on Sunday afternoon...
"...there is still a feeling he could be capable of better yet this year..."
First Contact - 15:00 Doncaster
Of those with experience, First Contact sets a pretty high standard, and is expected to record his second win in three starts for Charlie Appleby. Despite meeting with defeat last time, he showed much improved form beaten a shoulder by a promising type who has since won again, and First Contact looks potentially smart. The third that day has also won again since, so the form looks solid, and First Contact is a confident selection here.
Naggers - 15:35 Doncaster
Naggers was unlucky in this race on his return last season but he made up into a useful sprinter afterwards and is again of interest on his reappearance. Admittedly, he is 9 lb higher in the weights than last year, but even though he is now a seven-year-old, there is still a feeling he could be capable of better yet this year. He looks like he will get his favoured soft ground and he is fancied to go close in a competitive sprint. Justanotherbottle and Manshood both have time on their side and should also give a good account.
Royal Line - 16:10 Doncaster
Royal Line quickly made up into a useful performer last season, winning his first two starts, and shaping better than the bare result in his final two runs, latest when finishing seventh in the November Handicap over this C&D. His pedigree and connections are an ongoing recommendation, and he strikes as the type to do even better as a four-year-old this season. Great Hall has already had a couple of runs this year and looks the biggest threat.
(All from Doncaster)
