Nick Shiambouros returns with two selections from the Sunday meeting at Nottingham...
"I think she will find this group more to her liking and should take all the beating"
16:35 Nottingham - Silvanus
Silvanus is worth an interest in this competitive sprint handicap.
This veteran put in a much improved effort last time out when finishing third to Judicial at Thirsk earlier this month. He ran on fairly well in the closing stages, and was not beaten all that far.
He retains his form well and has won off his current mark. I think he is sitting on a big effort and I have backed him at his current price of 9.417/2 on the exchange.
The current favourite is Lexington Abbey who is trading at 3.55/2. He won a conditions event over this course last month on heavy ground. I would take that piece of form with a pinch of salt as the others did not appear to act in the conditions.
17:05 Nottingham - Golden Stunner
This looks like an ideal opportunity for Golden Stunner to break through the maiden ranks.
This Dream Ahead filly finished second to the progressive Swiss Range at HQ last month. She held every chance two furlongs from home, but was easily brushed aside. The winner has since gone on to land a Listed race in tremendous fashion and is a horse with a bright future.
Last season she ran in to So Di Mar at Windsor, so she has not had the best of luck contesting maidens. I think she will find this group more to her liking and should take all the beating.
She is fairly priced at 2.9215/8 on the exchange.
Malhama is worth a mention. She put in a much improved effort when finishing second in a Haydock maiden and is entitled to progress further.
