Timeform pick out three bets from South Africa on Sunday.
Drageda - 12:55 Greyville
Drageda looks a typical improving sort for trainer Duncan Howells, an astute trainer who invariably gets the very best out of the horses in his care. The three-year-old son of legendary sire Captain Al was sent off at odds on (17/20) on his Scottsville debut before finishing a six length seventh over six furlongs, but improved for that experience when stepped up to seven furlongs on the polytrack course here at Greyville when a length fourth to Graduate in a race where the form is yet to be seriously tested. If he builds on that as expected then Drageda will prove hard to beat here upped to the mile.
Dawn Calling - 13:30 Greyville
Dawn Calling could well make it a good afternoon for the Howells yard if she can make the most of the weight she receives all round in this Class D Plate over seven furlongs on the turf. Although only seventh last time out that was over an inadequate six furlongs when she got going too late to get to the front, but was still only beaten a length and a half in a better race than this at Scottsville. With the increase in trip and drop in class, Dawn Calling ought to be able to make amends this afternoon.
London Call - 14:05 Greyville
London Call has to give weight away to all of his rivals but the seven-year-old gelding may well be able to shrug that off in this Pinnacle Stakes over six furlongs for trainer Mark Dixon. Last time out the son of Kahal won his ninth race on his sixteenth start when easily seeing off Redcarpet Captain at Scottsville over this trip by two and three-quarter lengths, and with so few miles on the clock despite his age, there is every chance there is even more to come from London Call this afternoon with S'manga Khumalo in the saddle.
