Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when Apple's Shakira duly obliged. Nick returns to Cheltenham with two more selections from the final day of the meeting...
"He is progressing nicely over fences and should give the favourite plenty to think about"
14:25 Cheltenham - Cloudy Dream
Cloudy Dream should go close in this high class event.
This gelding ran really well on his seasonal reappearance when finishing second to Smad Place in the Old Roan at Aintree last month. He battled on gamely in the closing stages, and was only just denied close home. The front two finished well clear of the remainder. He is progressing nicely over fences and should give the favourite plenty to think about. At present he is trading at 4.47/2 on the Exchange.
Fox Norton heads the market at 1.9310/11. This high class performer won this race last year and subsequently won two Grade 1 events at Aintree and Punchestown. He has the form in the book to take this, but as previously reported the stable has not got going yet.
15:00 Cheltenham - London Prize
London Prize makes a quick reappearance in this competitive handicap hurdle.
Last Saturday he beat Lough Derg Spirit to land a valuable Grade 2 at Wincanton. He took the lead two flights from home and was pushed out to score decisively. He has come on leaps and bounds this year, and should have more to offer providing this race does not come too quickly for him. At present he is trading at 6.411/2 on the Exchange.
Jenkins has been nicely backed for this race. After winning a bumper in great style on debut last year he has been highly touted. I was not in the least bit impressed with him when he won a minor event at Ffos Las last spring. He is the current favourite at 6.25/1 on the Exchange which is far too short in my opinion.
