With National Hunt taking centre stage today Nick Shiambouros returns with a selection from Southwell and one from Stratford...
"I think he is ready to win and is reasonably priced at [3.95] on the exchange"
I'll Be Your Clown should prove difficult to beat in this seller.
This gelding was a little disappointing when finishing last of three behind Symphony Of Angels over this course last month. He began to feel the strain three from home, and was quickly brushed aside. He is best judged on his easy victory over Greenworldsolution at Market Rasen. Connections have dropped him in to selling company today, and if he puts his best foot forward he will surely get the job done. At present he is trading at [2.4] on the exchange.
Pershing appears to be the main danger. He is winless in 28 starts, but has bits and pieces of form in Ireland. I think he will attempt to make all, and could be a back-to-lay bet at around [4.6] on the exchange.
Sky Of Stars is my idea of the winner of this handicap hurdle.
This gelding put in a much improved effort for his new conditioner when finishing second to Defining Year at Uttoxeter earlier this week. Wearing the blinkers for the first time, he showed a lot more spark and finished the race with good energy. I think he is ready to win and is reasonably priced at [3.95] on the exchange.
Innocent Girl must be considered. This versatile mare was turned over at odds-on when finishing second to Listen To The Man at Wincanton, but has held her form well in the spring. She has been given a break and comes in to this race a fresh horse. At present she is trading at [3.85] on the exchange.
