Nick Shiambouros is back with a couple of selections from the Sunday meetings at Ffos Las and Plumpton...
"He was not beaten all that far and the steady pace did him no favours"
Luckofthedraw should prove difficult to beat in this novices' hurdle.
Earlier this month over this course he made all to beat Burrows Edge. He jumped well and pulled clear on the run-in to win with plenty in hand. I think he will be suited by the extra yardage, and should have little difficulty defying the penalty. At present he is trading at [2.28] on the exchange which is about right.
Oxwich Bay has been highly tried this year, and was pulled-up behind Sam's Gunner in a Grade 3 at Sandown last month. He will appreciate the return to novice company but needs to be at his very best to trouble the selection. At present he is trading at [4.0] on the exchange.
Six Gun Serenade should make his presence felt in this maiden hurdle.
This gelding caught the eye on hurdles debut when finishing fifth to Pull Together over this course earlier this month. He held every chance on the run to the second last, but failed to quicken when the pace lifted. He was not beaten all that far and the steady pace did him no favours. I think he has more to offer and is fairly priced at [5.0] on the exchange.
Dancing Doug heads the market at [3.65]. He has shown promise in bumpers, but finished a distant second to Irish Odyssey on his latest start at Fontwell. This race will not take a lot of winning so he must enter calculations.
