"Blinkers are applied today and his trainer does very well (£102.87 profit over last five seasons) when turning to headgear for his horses."

Timeform on Monsieur Co

14:00 - SAVELLO (6) is becoming well handicapped and could be worth chancing after showing more spark at Aintree last time. Theo's Charm rates a big threat off his lower chase mark, while Kayf Blanco and Princeton Royale should be on the premises again, however MONSIEUR CO (7) gets the nod as a second string. Blinkers are applied today and his trainer does very well (£102.87 profit over last five seasons) when turning to headgear for his horses.

14:35 - PHOEBUS LESCRIBAA (4) remains with potential now going chasing for Fergal O'Brien and gets the vote in a tricky contest. His best effort came when a ¾-length third of 5 to Challico in a novice hurdle at Taunton in November and is of interest dropped in trip here. Zamparelli likely remains with a bigger effort in his locker and looks a player, as does the well-handicapped Badilou.

15:10 - SAM NOIR (1) quickly left his chasing debut mishap in his wake when a solid third over hurdles at Market Rasen recently, and with the greater emphasis on stamina here sure to suit, he is fancied to make a bold bid now operating from his last winning mark. Low-mileage Minella Whisper and Fizzlestix are others to consider, especially the latter who represents a trainer in red-hot form.

15:40 - LITTERALE CI (2) seemed bogged down in heavy ground for a second time at Wincanton, but she remains one to be interested in, especially now encountering less testing going again. Her rider gets on well with her, having won on the mares at Ludlow back in December. Hijran is going the right way, while Flight To Nowhere and Passing Call are a couple of others to consider.

16:10 - PECULIAR PLACES (10) disappointed on his hurdling debut but that was on heavy ground and he is well worth another chance given his useful bumper form. Secret Investor sets a clear standard on his best form and is the obvious threat, while Royal Magic is respected on his Towcester win back in November.

16:45 - UPBEAT COBBLER (4) has plenty of handicapping scope, having gained her last success off a mark 11 lb higher, and is taken to build on a better effort last time when second to a good thing at Huntingdon. Last year's runner-up The Last Bridge arrives in good form and should feature again, though he's arguably high enough in the weights now. Dylanseoghan and Onurbike have been knocking on the door of late and also make the shortlist.

17:15 - ABRICOT DE L'OASIS and Billy Merriott stand out on form and are likely to fill the first 2 places, but the former makes a bit more appeal given his overall record has a more solid look to it and his main rival may find the race coming too soon (goes well fresh) following a big run at Newbury. Mr Syntax, who has been in good form between the flags, is also considered.
