Timeform take you through the card at Southwell on Tuesday evening...
"...it would be no surprise if he were to produce a much improved display now starting out in handicaps..."
Timeform on Shanroe Tic Tec
18:10 - NO CEILING (3) shaped with more encouragement when fourth at Stratford and has dropped to a handy mark, so could be the way to go with the Placepot in mind now fitted with a tongue strap. Atlantic Storm was unlucky not to win over hurdles last time and had shaped with promise on his sole start over fences in December, so rates the main threat.
18:40 - TOO MANY DIAMONDS (6) had plenty in hand when winning both his starts over C&D in recent weeks (by 11 lengths from Oscar O'Scar last time, drawing clear from three out), and a 7 lb penalty may not be enough to prevent the hat-trick, with the prospect of more to come after just three starts over the larger obstacles. Riddlestown arrives in good heart and can follow the selection home ahead of Copper West, who also remains with potential as a chaser.
19:10 - SHANROE TIC TEC (2) showed a fair level of form when third on his hurdling debut at Huntingdon in March, not jumping with much fluency but offering something to work on nonetheless. Admittedly, he failed to build on that in two subsequent starts for previous connections, but it would be no surprise if he were to produce a much improved display now starting out in handicaps for Ben Pauling, a trainer who has done well with similar recruits, and it will interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour in this third leg of the Placepot.
19:40 - THE DEVILS DROP (4) and Equus Flight look the pair to concentrate on here, with marginal preference for the former. He ran as well as he ever has when fifth in a handicap at Ludlow last time and a repeat of that would make him the one to beat on form, with Wayne Hutchinson, who boasts an impressive 43% strike rate on hurdling favourites, back in the saddle.
20:10 - WYNFORD (7) chucked his chance of winning away after doing all the hard work at Market Rasen last time, hanging badly left once hitting the front, carrying Midnight Maestro with him and letting that one back in front. He is clearly not one to get involved with at short odds on that evidence, but it still represented a career-best effort and, with the prospect of more to come given a stronger pace to run at, Wynford could be worth chancing in an open heat, just 4 lb higher and with his yard in top form.
20:40 - JE SUIS CHARLIE (5) rates by far the most solid proposition in this concluding leg of the Placepot. He showed a fairly useful level of ability in three starts over hurdles in the winter months and is fancied to put that experience to good use in against several newcomers to this sphere, fit from the Flat and back on better ground than when third on his most recent hurdles outing at Musselburgh.
21:10 - GET READY FREDDY (2) capitalised on a lower hurdles mark with any amount in hand at Uttoxeter last month, and another good run looks on the cards despite going up plenty in the weights. Way Out West and Tidal Watch complete the shortlist in the finale.
