Timeform take you through the card at Southwell on Friday...

"His record at this track reads 212, and it’d be a surprise if he wasn’t in the mix once again."

12:15 - The one-two-three from a similar race to this over C&D 18 days ago reoppose here, and both the winner Mr Carbonator and second MEDICI ORO (3) probably did well to finish where they did for differing reasons, the former coming from right out the back and making up plenty of ground in the straight, but the latter probably doing too much up front. Medici Oro is 2 lb better off at the weights now and gets the narrow vote.

12:45 - Magic Applause sets the standard here by some margin but was particularly poor when we last saw her in the summer and has an absence to overcome here, so probably isn't the most solid of favourites. A FEW GOOD MEN (3) has attracted some early market support with a handy 7 lb claimer taking over in the saddle and could have the tools required for this sort of test based on his debut at Wolverhampton earlier this month (showed speed and disputed lead).

13:15 - THE GREAT WALL (3) showed plenty on three starts in Ireland for Michael O'Callaghan, only denied by a head in a maiden at the Curragh in August, and he makes plenty of appeal here for his shrewd new connections in race lacking any depth.

13:50 - Kohinoor Diamond will probably be suited by going up in trip but he doesn't look a straightforward proposition and isn't really one to trust, especially given that he's currently heading the market. The bet in the race could well be RULER OF THE NILE (6), who looked a fibresand natural when bolting up here over this trip at the beginning of 2016. He's raced here only twice since but has had some sort of excuse on both occasions (including when running off a three-month break in November), and having fallen back down the weights, he could be ready to strike, arriving here on the back of a good run at Chelmsford last time.

14:25 - BROTHER TIGER (4) hasn't got much of a record fresh but he has fallen back down to his last winning mark, and with the booking of the red-hot Fran Berry looking a positive move, he is worth including. CAPTAIN LARS (2) produced his best effort of the season when winning here over six furlongs last time and, also a winner over this shorter trip, he should give a good account again under a penalty.

15:00 - SCOTCH MYST (9) shaped well when left with plenty to do at Wolverhampton last time (fourth) and is of interest now returned to the scene of his sole win. His record at this track reads 212, and it'd be a surprise if he wasn't in the mix once again.

15:30 - Star Ascending narrowly failed to justify some strong market support when second here last time, but he is clearly in very good form at present and will probably go close again over the same C&D with the good-value Rossa Ryan remaining in the saddle.
