Nick Shiambouros had another winner yesterday when the heavily backed Call Me Lord won. He returns with two selections from the NH meeting at Southwell...
"I think she is open to further improvement, and a big run is expected"
Back Sandymount Rose at BSP in the 14:50 at Southwell
Echiquier the one
13:45 Southwell - Echiquier
Echiquier should appreciate the ease in grade.
This gelding has been highly tried the last twice but has run with merit. Back in October he finished a creditable fifth to Thyme Hill in a Grade 2 hurdle at Chepstow. He was headed two from home, but plugged on and was not beaten all that far. I think he will find this company more to his liking, and is attractively priced at 3.39/4 on the exchange.
Keen On heads the market at 2.447/5 on the exchange. He got up close home to beat Protektorat in a maiden hurdle at Sandown last month and should have more to offer. His price is a little thin in my opinion.
Sandy to continue improvement
14:50 Southwell - Sandymount Rose
Sandymount Rose should make her presence felt in this mares only maiden hurdle.
This mare put in a much improved effort when finishing second to Queens Cave at Exeter last month. She put in some good work in the closing stages, and finished the race willingly. I think she is open to further improvement, and a big run is expected. At present she is trading at 4.216/5 on the exchange.
Whatsdastory is the obvious danger. This Irish point winner finished second in a maiden hurdle at Killarney last season, and makes her debut for new connections. The Newland stable is going well at present, and should be ready to do herself justice.
