Timeform take you through the card at Sedgefield on Wednesday.
14:00 - If this was a Flat handicap TOR (11) would be giving upwards of a stone away to this field (rated in the high-80s in that sphere) and he looks an interesting recruit to hurdling for Iain Jardine and is an obvious option.
14:35 - CAPTAIN MOWBRAY (5) looked set to score here on his third chasing start when falling heavily at the last flight and provided that hasn't left a mark, he should give another good account from a slightly higher mark. EVER SO MUCH (7) is well below his last winning mark and showed something when third here over hurdles last time. He is attracting some market support on his return to chasing, and could also be worth including.
15:10 - Only six runners but an interesting race. This is a big drop in grade for APTERIX (1), who contested a listed hurdle at Market Rasen last time, and it's not surprising to see him gathering some market support this morning, well treated on the pick of his chasing exploits, after all. Neil Mulholland has been going through a quiet spell but there are some signs that they may be getting back to form, and VANCOUVER (5) would definitely be of interesting with this in mind. He bolted up in a handicap in May and looked as though he'd come on for his outing at Plumpton last month.
15:45 - KALONDRA (5) was useful over hurdles last season (made the frame from a BHA mark of 147), and should have too much class for this field, which includes Deauville Crystal - a Flat-bred four-year-old filly who isn't an obvious type for fences. BALLYCRYSTAL (1) went off the boil last season but won a couple over hurdles (including here), and could be the one to capitalise if the favourite disappoints (winning pointer so should take to chasing well).
16:20 - A large enough field but in truth only a few of these look capable of winning. There isn't much to split Imperial Eloquence and the well-regarded RAVENHILL ROAD (10) on bumper form, but the latter is 4 lb higher on Timeform ratings in that sphere after two impressive wins, and he gets the narrow verdict.
16:55 - Fergal O'Brien had plenty of success in this sphere last season and with his yard in excellent form at the start of this season, the newcomer IMPERIAL ELIXIR (5) could be the way to go, with Buy Mistake carrying a penalty for winning a weak race at Hexham in the summer.
