Nick Shiambouros returns with a couple of strong fancies from the Haydock card...
"This dual Group 1 winner retains his form well and has been placed in the last two runnings of this race"
Regal to reign
Regal Reality is the logical choice in this interesting Group 3.
This colt was most impressive when beating Ostilio at Goodwood last month. He produced a strong run inside the final furlong, and got up close home to win going away. This was only his third lifetime start and has the familiar profile of a Sir Michael Stoute improver. We have yet to see the best of him, and I will be surprised if he does not go close. At present he is trading at [2.94] on the exchange.
Group 1 winner Here Comes When was not beaten all that far behind Sir Dancelot at Goodwood last time out, and appears to be running in to form. He is capable of winning this contest, but is not the most reliable of customers. At present he is trading at [5.9] on the exchange.
Tin to topple rivals
The Tin Man should make his presence felt in this historic race.
This lightly raced gelding finished third to Polydream at Deauville last month. He kept on well in the closing stages, but could not get to grips with the front two. This dual Group 1 winner retains his form well and has been placed in the last two runnings of this race. I think he represents cracking Each-Way value at around [11.0] on the exchange.
Harry Angel is the favourite at [2.36] on the exchange. This smart colt won this race in great style last year and it is no surprise to see him trading at this short price. He lost all chance when rearing at the start behind Merchant Navy in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot. His conditioner has given him plenty of time to recover and deserves his position at the head of the market.
