Thunder Buddy - Southwell 18:00
Thunder Buddy has done really well on the fibresand so far, winning two of his four starts and hitting the frame in the other two, and he returned to winning ways in first-time cheekpieces over C&D last month, pulling clear with another well-treated sort and winning by just under a length. A 4 lb raise may not be enough to stop him from going in again, and he gets the vote to complete the double at the expense of Port Soif and Crosse Fire - two more who do well at this track.
Weld Al Emarat - Southwell 19:00
Weld Al Emarat is on a roll at the moment, completing a double here over a furlong shorter last month. Admittedly, he only got up in the dying strides last time out, but he deserved credit for getting his head in front considering he denied another thriving rival who enjoyed first run on the day. This looks another good opening for Weld Al Emarat, and, raised 5 lb, he can complete a course hat-trick. Space Bandit and Mister Music were second and third respectively behind Weld Al Emarat last time, and they can fill those places once again.
Awa Bomba - Southwell 20:00
While the fibresand is something of an unknown for Awa Bomba, there's every chance that it will suit considering that he seemingly needed more of an emphasis on stamina when third over this trip at Wolverhampton last time out. Raised 2 lb for that run, he looks to be on a competitive mark at the moment, and gets the vote to open his account at the sixth attempt. Deconso ranks as the main danger for all he was almost 2 lengths behind the selection that day, while the in-form Champagne Mondays is another to consider.
