Timeform pick out their three best bets from Newmarket on Saturday...

"...a reproduction of his reappearance effort in the Lincoln would put him firmly in the picture..."

Timeform on Mitchum Swagger

Mannaal - 14:35 Newmarket

Mannaal did the job well on debut at Nottingham and, with the promise of better to come from this well-bred filly, she is expected to take this step up in class in her stride. That looked a useful race and she handled the ground with ease in it well, so she is just preferred to Ya Hala, who also made a winning start to her career at that course and is next on the list ahead of another promising type in Vivid Diamond.

Collide - 15:10 Newmarket

Collide was impressive in a Nottingham handicap last time, and while this is a much tougher assignment, the Frankel colt could be equal to the task with the promise of better to come. He showed much improved form that day, a cut above his rivals, as his pedigree suggests he should be, and he is fancied to land his fourth win of the season. Frankuus will be a big threat if he puts his best foot forward back from a break on debut for David O'Meara, while Plutonian should give it a good shot. True Self, on the other hand, may find this trip too sharp.

Mitchum Swagger - 15:45 Newmarket

This looks a good opportunity for Mitchum Swagger, who was just edged out in this race three years ago, and a reproduction of his reappearance effort in the Lincoln would put him firmly in the picture with conditions in his favour. Though largely below par this year, Robin of Navan looks very dangerous indeed now eased in class and the three-year-old Graffiti Master is also accorded respect.
