Nick Shiambouros returns with two selections from the outstanding Sandown card...
"I think he is better than the bare form suggests, and is attractively priced at 9.08/1 on the exchange"
Jaytrack to deliver
12:40 Sandown - Jaytrack Parkhomes
I am going to take a chance with Jaytrack Parkhomes in this interesting novices' hurdle.
This gelding was a little disappointing on hurdles debut when finishing down the field behind Bright Forecast at Newbury last November. He began to feel the strain two flights from home, and quickly weakened out of contention. He has previously finished a respectable fifth to Strong Glance in a Cheltenham bumper. I think he is better than the bare form suggests, and is attractively priced at 9.08/1.
Praeceps merits consideration. He put in some good work in the closing stages when finishing second to Song For Someone on hurdles debut at Newbury. Improvement is expected, and is currently trading at 4.47/2 on the exchange.
V for victory
14:25 Sandown - Vinndication
Vinndication should prove difficult to beat in this high class event.
This talented novice chaser is unbeaten in six lifetime starts, including two over fences this season. Last month at Ascot he beat Jerrysback in good style. He jumped pretty well throughout, and kept on strongly in the closing stages to win with authority. He does not win his races by wide margins, but has a good attitude and shows plenty of resolution. This is his toughest assignment to date, but I believe he is up to the task. At present he is trading at 2.77/4 on the exchange.
Defi Du Seuil and Lostintranslation are closely matched on the book, and there should be little between them. This looks like a cracking renewal, but I think the selection has a lot more improvement left.
