Nick Shiambouros returns with two strong fancies from the final day of the York Ebor meeting...
"This likeable individual should get back to winning ways and is fairly priced at 6.25/1 on the exchange"
13:55 York - Mondialiste
Mondialiste should go close in this interesting contest.
This talented seven-year-old finished an excellent second to Success Days in a Group 2 over this course last month. He delivered a strong challenge a furlong from home, and was only just denied near the line. This was his best effort this year, and has every right to move forward. He is a dual Grade 1 winner in North America and won this race in 2015. I think he is sitting on a big effort, and is attractively priced at 4.216/5 on the exchange.
Mustashry heads the market at 3.953/1. This lightly raced performer came from a long way back to win a decent handicap at Chelmsford earlier this month. He is a typical Sir Michael Stoute improver and must be respected.
15:00 York - Nebo
Nebo looks like the one to be on in this historic race.
This colt finished second to Barraquero in the Richmond at Goodwood earlier this month. He was headed inside the final furlong, but kept on willingly to hold on to a place. I think the winner is potentially very smart, and time may tell he faced an impossible task. This likeable individual should get back to winning ways and is fairly priced at 6.25/1 on the exchange.
Headway is the market leader at 4.94/1. He comes out of the same race as the selection, and did not handle the ground when finishing unplaced. His best piece of form was on quick ground when finishing second in the Coventry. Conditions will not be ideal for him and looks short enough in the market.
