Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when both his selections won. Nick hopes to continue the run with two winners from the outstanding Haydock card...
"He is somewhat of an enigma, but has loads of ability and hopefully he can put his best foot forward"
12:10 Haydock - Whatmore
Whatmore should run well at a decent price in this Listed novices' hurdle.
This five-year-old put in a much improved effort when beating Zalvados at Bangor last month. He took the lead at the final flight ,and pulled clear to win with complete authority. He is now unbeaten in two starts this term, and is improving with racing. The water is deeper today but I think he will be up to the task. At present he is trading at 6.611/2 on the exchange.
Dynamite Dollars is the short priced favourite at 2.447/5. He is also unbeaten in two starts and was impressive when beating Thomas Patrick at Exeter earlier this month. Clearly he has more to offer, but this is a competitive race and represents poor value in my opinion.
15:00 Haydock - Outlander
Outlander can land the Betfair Chase for trainer Gordon Elliott. This smart performer bounced back to form in the first time cheekpieces in the Grade 1 at Down Royal earlier this month. He was headed at the last, but fought back to get his head in front near the finish. He is somewhat of an enigma, but has loads of ability and hopefully he can put his best foot forward. At present he is trading at 6.05/1 on the exchange.
Bristol De Mai got the better of Blacklion to land the Charlie Hall at Wetherby earlier this month. This dual course winner ticks all the right boxes but his price is a little thin at 2.546/4.
If Cue Card can bounce back to his best he will be a danger to all. Hopefully his recent fall has not dented his confidence.
