12.20 Mitie Events & Leisure Novices' Hurdle (2) 2m5f141y

Analyst's Verdict:
It's been more style than substance so far from Palmers Hill, but he's passed both tests without being extended and is an exciting prospect. Take To Heart and Count Meribel will certainly ensure that the selection doesn't have it all his own way, though.

Timeform Top Rated:
148p 2. TAKE TO HEART Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville
141 1. COUNT MERIBEL Nigel Twiston-Davies Mark Grant
136p 3. PALMERS HILL Jonjo O'Neill Barry Geraghty

12.55 Bam Construct UK Chase (Novices' Limited Handicap) (3) 2m7f180y

Analyst's Verdict:
Lough Derg Farmer won twice over hurdles last season, but on pedigree and background (point winner), he appeals as the sort to reach his full potential over fences. Toviere has left the impression on both starts in novice company that he has a much bigger effort in him, while Remind Me Later scored in a manner that suggests he'll be competitive from this 6 lb higher mark.

Timeform Top Rated:
148 9. REMIND ME LATER Gary Moore Jamie Moore
146p 7. TOVIERE Oliver Sherwood Leighton Aspell
144 3. ABBREVIATE Kim Bailey David Bass

1.30 Trisoft Mares' Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (3) 2m5f141y

Analyst's Verdict:
Whatsthatallabout clearly comes with a few risks given her absence but she's well treated based on her defeat of Ivor's Queen last summer and might be worth chancing. Hitherjacques Lady was a lot better than the result in the Mares' Final at Newbury when last seen and retains potential, while Jester Jet was firmly on the up in the spring and also merits plenty of respect.

Timeform Top Rated:
138 7. WHATSTHATALLABOUT Neil Mulholland Niall Madden
135 6. JESTER JET Tom Lacey Robert Dunne
134 10. MIDNIGHT GLORY Philip Hobbs James Best

2.05 Christy 1965 Chase (Grade 2) (1) 2m5f8y

Analyst's Verdict:
Top Notch has a good chance on Timeform ratings and his recent run over hurdles should have put this C&D winner spot on for this. Front-runners Smad Place and Josses Hill are respected, but have rivals for the lead and the likely strong pace may suit a horse ridden slightly more patiently.

Timeform Top Rated:
178 7. TOP NOTCH Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville
177 3. SMAD PLACE Alan King Wayne Hutchinson
176 9. TOP GAMBLE Kerry Lee Jamie Moore

2.40 Coral Hurdle (Ascot) (Grade 2) (1) 2m3f58y

Analyst's Verdict:
The conundrum for punters is whether to side with last year's outstanding juvenile Defi du Seuil trying this trip for the first time, or proven highclass performers in Lil Rockerfeller and L'ami Serge. The strong feeling is that Defi du Seuil will raise his game this year (NH bred so didn't race on the level) so he receives the vote in what should be a fascinating race.

Timeform Top Rated:
183 5. LIL ROCKERFELLER Neil King Trevor Whelan
176 1. L'AMI SERGE Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville
168p 3. DEFI DU SEUIL Philip Hobbs Barry Geraghty

3.15 Shawbrook Handicap Chase (2) 2m167y

Analyst's Verdict:
Last year's winner Sire de Grugy looked as good as ever during a very light campaign last term and, with a recent hurdles spin likely to have put him spot on for this, he should make a bold bid to follow up. San Benedeto arrives in good heart and is feared, while Upsilon Bleu may represent the best value of the remainder.

Timeform Top Rated:
176 1. SIRE DE GRUGY Gary Moore Jamie Moore
175 4. SAN BENEDETO Paul Nicholls Bryony Frost (5)
175 6. UPSILON BLEU Pauline Robson Craig Nichol

3.50 Elite Av Standard Open National Hunt Flat (4) 1m7f152y

Analyst's Verdict:
Portrush Ted made a promising start to his career when overcoming inexperience at Uttoxeter in March and might be up to defying a penalty but the market will reveal more in a race featuring a few interesting newcomers. Wallace Spirit and point-winner Dr Rhythm very much fall into that category, while Nestor Park is also likely to figure on the back of a debut second.

Timeform Top Rated:
121 1. PORTRUSH TED Warren Greatrex Thomas Greatrex (7)
120 10. NESTOR PARK Ben Pauling David Bass
116 3. BOMBER'S MOON Nigel Twiston-Davies Mark Grant
