FAMILY FORTUNES - 15:10 Lingfield
FAMILY FORTUNES has hit the frame in each of his last seven starts (two wins and five seconds) and shaped like the best horse on the day when finding only Sha La La La Lee too good over C&D last time, conceding first run to that rival in a slowly-run race and doing well under the circumstances to be beaten just a neck. Michael Madgwick's charge has steadily been climbing up the weights - he is now 15 lb higher than when his hot streak began - but he certainly shaped as if still ahead of the handicapper last time and would appear to hold sound claims of getting back to winning ways here, the standard-setter on weight-adjusted ratings after all.
MERHOOB - 15:45 Lingfield
MERHOOB was unlucky not to follow up his Wolverhampton win back there two weeks ago, having to wait for a gap and only just failing. That represented a clear career-best effort at the age of seven, and a further 2 lb rise in the weights is unlikely to stop him from going close again, with Adam Kirby taking over in the saddle. George Bowen wasn't far behind the selection on his comeback that day and remains unexposed on the all-weather, while Royal Birth is also respected having ended his losing run in good style over C&D three weeks ago.
SUNDIATA - 16:20 Lingfield
SUNDIATA was unable to justify favouritism in a Wolverhampton novice last time, but she didn't do much wrong in defeat, looking all over the winner a furlong out before being caught right on the line. She still appeals as being well treated from an opening mark in the low-60s and is worth another chance for the Charlie Hills yard that continues in good heart (78.6% of horses running to form). Sussudio was close-up behind the selection last time and is another who could go on to better things now handicapping, while Griggy and last month's Wolverhampton scorer Eye of The Water are others to note.
