Timeform pick out their three best bets from Newbury on Saturday...
"...the way he surged clear off a slow pace was very impressive..."
Timeform on Stylehunter
Stylehunter - 13:45 Newbury
Stylehunter is a much improved performer this season, winning a minor event at Lingfield before shaping well back down in trip in the Britannia at Royal Ascot, never nearer than at the finish. He appreciated the step back up in trip when a convincing winner at Goodwood last time, the way he surged clear off a slow pace was very impressive, and he seems sure to be suited by this even longer trip. That form hasn't worked out too well, but he created a very good visual impression, and a subsequent 5 lb rise in the weights could well underestimate him. York winner Pivoine is another who looks sure to make a bold bid, while Global Giant completes the shortlist.
True Mason - 14:55 Newbury
True Mason was no match for a couple of high-class fillies - Pretty Pollyanna and Signora Cabello - in the Prix Morny at Deauville last time, but he faces a slightly easier test here (his pedigree also suggests he should handle likely testing conditions), and still appears to be on the up, so he gets a tentative vote in a race where several are hard to split. Kessaar is sure to be thereabouts again on the back of winning the Sirenia Stakes and Garrus strikes as a potential big improver up in grade.
Mutafarrid - 17:15 Newbury
A well-up-to-scratch three-year-old handicap, with Mutafarrid an appealing option back over seven furlongs given he boasts the potential to be a fair bit better than this grade and also comes into this fresh. He didn't appear to get home over a mile at Yarmouth last time, but he appeals as being well handicapped on the pick of his form, and is preferred to Letsbe Avenue, whose win here in July is strong form and he's an obvious threat, while Jackpot Royale is also respected in search of a hat-trick.
