WAITINGFORTHEDAY - 14:50 Curragh
WAITINGFORTHEDAY caught the eye when second at Gowran last time, forced to deliver her challenge from further back than ideal and doing well under the circumstances to finish as close as she did, never nearer than the length she was beaten at the line. She's one to be interested in on that evidence, still only 1 lb higher here, and is taken to go one better at the expense of Crafty Madam, who has made a fine start for her new yard. Dame Kyteler completes the shortlist.
MOUNT FUJI - 16:00 Curragh
MOUNT FUJI made a big impression on debut and is best not judged too harshly on his run in the Norfolk Stakes, when he was coltish beforehand and uncomfortable with the early pace. The extra furlong here should see him in a better light, and he is fancied to get back on the up for the Aidan O'Brien yard that has won four of the last six renewals of this race. Pistoletto sets the standard on what's been achieved so far and can give the selection most to do, along with Soul Search.
ROMANISED - 16:35 Curragh
ROMANISED has clearly returned in excellent heart this year, and once again he endured a less than ideal passage when fourth in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot last time, likely to have gone close had his effort begun sooner. This represents a marked drop in grade, and, the standard-setter on weight-adjusted ratings, this looks a prime opportunity for him to gain a first success since last year's Irish 2000 Guineas. Hey Gaman and Flight Risk are next best.
