Nick Shiambouros returns with two more selections from the outstanding Newbury card...
"That run should put him spot on for this assignment, and is fairly priced at [5.3]."
Fear the Storm
12:45 Newbury - Kilbricken Storm
Kilbricken Storm is my idea of the winner of this interesting race.
This talented performer beat Cobolobo on chase debut at Ffos Las last month. He relinquished the lead over the last, but rallied in great style to put his head in front right on the line. This was a much better effort than the winning margin suggests. He jumped well in the main, and put his head down when it mattered. Trainer Colin Tizzard has dominated this race in recent years and this likeable individual can give him another winner. At present he is trading at [3.55] on the exchange.
Santini heads the market at [2.54]. This smart novice hurdler beat Roksana in a Grade 1 at Aintree in the spring. This gelding is built for chasing and is an exciting prospect. He is the obvious danger, but I think the selection will have his measure.
Thomas to show the way
15:00 Newbury - Thomas Patrick
Thomas Patrick should go close in this mouthwatering race.
This gelding finished an excellent second to Elegant Escape at Sandown last month. He was headed on the run-in, and made the winner pull out all the stops to hold on. This lightly raced individual is better off at the weights with the winner, and should reverse the form. That run should put him spot on for this assignment, and is fairly priced at [5.3] on the exchange.
Ms Parfois merits consideration. She has no stamina limitations, and her second to Terrefort in the spring reads well in the context of this race. At present she is trading at [7.4].
