Nick Shiambouros returns with two more selections from the final day of the July meeting at HQ...
"I think he is sitting on a big effort, and is attractively priced at [5.7] on the exchange"
Aqabah sets the standard in this interesting contest.
This Exchange Rate colt put in a much improved effort when finishing an excellent fifth to Rajasinghe in the Coventry at Royal Ascot last month. He delivered a strong challenge a furlong from home, but the winner pulled out a bit more when it counted. He ran on all the way to the line, and was not beaten all that far. This talented individual has a lot more to offer and is fairly priced at [5.5] on the exchange.
Gustav Klimt heads the market at [2.32]. This Galileo colt won a Curragh maiden in good style earlier this month. He swept to the front two furlongs from home, and pulled clear to win easily. He is the big improver in the race, but looks short enough.
I am taking Limato to win this historic race for the second year in succession.
This gelding finished a close third to The Tin Man in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot last month. He delivered a challenge inside the final furlong, but the winner proved the stronger near the line. He was hampered near the finish but I do not think this affected the result. This was his first start since finishing down the field at Meydan in the spring, and may have just needed the outing. I think he is sitting on a big effort and is attractively priced at [5.7] on the exchange.
The unbeaten Carravagio is the short priced favourite at [2.14]. He was most impressive when beating Harry Angel in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. He took the lead well inside the final furlong, and powered home to win with complete authority. He still has bags of potential, but is priced accordingly.
