There is a useful midweek card at Sandown on Wednesday evening and that is where we are heading for the Placepot attempt.

18:00 - Lots of these like to make the running, so a strong pace is predicted and the Sandown hill is expected to take its toll in the closing stages. Bearing that in mind it could be worth including Pillar Box, who stays further than this, and although he does possess plenty of speed, doesn't usually front run, with his low draw another plus. Seve should also be held up just off the main speed and is also worth including in an open race.

18:35 - Coolcalmcollected looks a banker in our second race of the evening for the in-form Chris Wall stable with the excellent George Baker up for the first time. Coolcalmcollected gave the impression that there is more to come when third at Leicester last time despite being trapped wide, and looks to have found a good opportunity in a race somewhat lacking in other progressive types.

19:10 - Jonathan Portman's debutantes have outran their odds on a few occasions this season and Oisin Murphy is a positive booking on Desert Tango, who is also fairly well related. Hugo Palmer's horses tend to be a little shorter in the market first time out but also have a decent record, offering hope that Zodiakos can also run into a place.

19:40 - Tigers Tale is a consistent performer at this sort of level and represents a solid Placepot pick in the fourth race this evening. Tigers Tale placed off this mark over C&D in May, and his prominent run style should see him to good effect once again at this track, he should make the places.

20:15 - Atab is less exposed than a few of these and went well for a long time on his reappearance at Doncaster in April at his first try at this trip, fading in the final furlong like a horse in need of the run, and he is worth including along with Harold Lloyd, who placed here in his maiden and could have paid the price for being up with the pace throughout.

20:50 - Mythical Moment was impressive last time and may well have far too much for the majority of these under a penalty, but there are some question marks about the form of his last race, and he is worth opposing for Placepot purposes after just 6 days off. Improvement is expected from Sea of Heaven upped to this trip, and he is a solid alternative in a race that on paper is all about the top two in the market.
