Nick Shiambouros is back with a couple of selections from the decent card at Sandown...
"She had previously finished a close second to Queen Power with the likes of Star Catcher and Star Terms in behind"
Back Lavender’s Blue Each-Way at 15.014/1 in the 15:00 at Sandown
Blue to upset
15:00 Sandown - Lavender's Blue
Lavender's Blue looks a decent Each-Way proposition in this interesting Group 3.
This lightly raced filly was last seen in the Oaks when finishing last behind Anapurna. She refused to settle, and quickly weakened out of contention three furlongs from home. She had previously finished a close second to Queen Power with the likes of Star Catcher and Star Terms in behind. Trainer Amanda Perrett has exercised a great deal of patience with this talented filly, and hopefully she will settle better today. She is the value Each-Way bet at 15.0014/1 on the exchange.
Jubiloso is the odds-on favourite at 1.9310/11 on the exchange. She was a little disappointing when finishing third to Billesdon Brook in a similar event at Goodwood earlier this month. She met a little interference two furlongs out, but it did not cost her the race. She finished an excellent third to Watch Me in the Coronation on her previous start, which reads well in the context of this race. She is the obvious danger.
Stay Positive
15:35 Sandown - Positive
Positive should prove difficult to beat in this Group 3 event.
This colt finished second to the smart Pinatubo in the Vintage at Goodwood earlier this month. He kept on really well in the closing stages but never had a chance of catching the runaway winner. He finished well clear of the third place finisher. This was a solid effort, and time may tell he was facing an impossible task. The winner looks something special. I think he will find this company more to his liking and is fairly priced at 2.568/5 on the exchange.
Visinari finished well behind the selection at Goodwood, but his third in the July Stakes at HQ gives him a chance. At present he is trading at 6.411/2 on the exchange.
